Zoom has gotten a lot of crap lately for their less-than stellar privacy settings, creeper settings, and security configurations. So here's a brief summary of my thoughts when to use Zoom, when to use an alternative, and some suggested alternatives.
When to use Zoom
- Casual Conversations
- Information you're okay with being publicly available
- For School/Classes you're attending
- Your boss is asking you to
When NOT to use Zoom
- You're a government entity
- You're a government contractor
- You're discussing trade secrets​ you don't want China to know about
- You already have a Microsoft Teams account
